Concrete Sidewalks & Walkways
Safe, durable pathways that connect your property and enhance curb appeal.

Walkways That Last
Your sidewalks and walkways do more than just get you from point A to point B. They guide visitors to your door, connect different areas of your property, and play a big role in how your home looks from the street.
But they also need to be safe. Cracked, uneven, or settling sidewalks create tripping hazards for your family and guests. They collect water, which leads to more damage over time. And they make your property look neglected, even if everything else is well-maintained.
We've been installing concrete walkways in Murrieta since 2024, and we know what it takes to build paths that stay level, drain properly, and look great for years. Whether you need a front walkway, garden path, or connection between different areas of your yard, we handle it right the first time.
What Makes a Good Sidewalk or Walkway
A quality walkway isn't just about pouring concrete. Several factors determine whether your path will last for decades or start having problems in a few years:
- •Proper width and thickness: Walkways need to be wide enough for comfortable use and thick enough to support regular foot traffic without cracking.
- •Grade and drainage: Water needs to flow away from the walkway, not pool on it. We slope everything correctly to prevent water problems.
- •Base preparation: The ground under your walkway needs to be stable and properly compacted. This prevents settling and cracking.
- •Expansion joints: Concrete expands and contracts with temperature changes. Proper joints prevent random cracking.
- •Surface finish: The texture needs to be slip-resistant, especially in areas that might get wet.
- •ADA compliance: Front walkways often need to meet accessibility standards for slope and surface smoothness.
These details matter because they affect both safety and longevity. We pay attention to all of them so your walkway works properly and lasts as long as your home does.
Walkway Options for Your Property
Different areas of your property might need different types of walkways. Here are the most common options we install:
Front entry walkways connect your driveway or street to your front door. These are typically 4 to 5 feet wide to allow two people to walk side by side comfortably. They're the first thing visitors see, so many homeowners choose decorative finishes here.
Side yard paths connect your front and back yards or provide access to utilities and storage. These can be narrower, typically 3 to 4 feet wide, and usually have a practical broom finish.
Garden walkways wind through landscaping and planted areas. These can be narrower still, sometimes incorporating decorative elements like exposed aggregate or stamped patterns. If you're interested in decorative options, check out our stamped and decorative concrete services.
Pool deck connections link your house to your pool area. These need special attention to drainage and slip resistance. We often coordinate these with patio installations for a unified look.
Our Installation Process
Here's how we install sidewalks and walkways that last:
Planning and layout: We walk your property with you to plan the route, width, and design. We mark utility lines and discuss drainage considerations. For front walkways, we verify local building code requirements.
Excavation and base work: We remove existing materials if needed and excavate to the proper depth. Then we install and compact base material to create a stable foundation. Proper compaction here prevents future settling.
Forming and grading: We build forms to shape the walkway and establish proper slope for drainage. This step determines the final appearance and function of your path.
Concrete placement: We pour and place the concrete, working it into all corners and edges. Proper consolidation eliminates air pockets that could cause problems later.
Finishing and jointing: We create the surface texture and cut control joints to direct where any minor cracking will occur. The concrete is then protected during the curing period.
Most walkway projects take 2 to 3 days from start to finish. You can usually walk on the surface after 24 to 48 hours, though full curing takes about a week.
